Wedding: Nina Hunter Fields and James Laurent Britt

Nina Hunter Fields and James Laurent Britt, both of Charleston, S.C., were married on Aug. 23, 2008 at The Farm at Old Edwards Inn in Highlands, N.C. with Richard Everette Lester officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Edward Addis and Mr. and Mrs. John Walter Fields, all of Seneca, S.C. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Hunter Jones and the late Mr. Jones of Seneca; the late Mrs. Frances Hicks Munn, of Florence, S.C. and the late Craig Foch Fields of Florence. She is a graduate of the College of Charleston and received her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She is employed as an attorney by Richardson Patrick Westbrook & Brickman, LLC in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Roger Wiley Deal of Columbia, S.C. and Mr. and Mrs. James Laurent Britt of Charlotte, N.C. He is the grandson of Mrs. Yvette Cormier Britt and the late Vernon James Britt of Newington, Conn.; Mrs. Kathleen Goode Kallan of Westin, Mass. and the late James Carlos Smith of New Orleans, La. He graduated from the University of South Carolina and is employed by the McKesson Corporation.

The bride’s attendants were Mrs. Lauren Parker Fields and Miss Martha Hart Rhodes, both of Charleston, and Mrs. Meredith McRae Robertson of Columbia.

Groomsmen were Roger Bankcroft Deal of Seattle, Wash. and Joshua Hunter Fields of Charleston. Ushers were James Gary Preston Christmas, Karl Phillip Finkelstein, Rion DuBose Foley and David Glenn Taylor, all of Charleston, and Beau David Boudreaux, Ian Claiborne Foley, John Andrew Love and Charles Bawn Peluso, all of Columbia.

Wedding: Gilbert

Wedding: Ashley Elizabeth Brown and Shane Preston Gilbert

Ashley Elizabeth Brown and Shane Preston Gilbert were married Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Easley Church of God in Easley, S.C. with the Rev. Jerry James officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Barbara and Clayton Richards of Six Mile, S.C. and Thomas Brown of Mooresville, N.C. She is the granddaughter of Ida Mae Gibson and the late Glenn Gibson and the late Thomas Preston and Mary Elizabeth Brown of Mooresville. She is a 2007 graduate of Daniel High School and is currently attending Tri-County Tech to earn an Associates degree in nursing.

The groom is the son of Cindy and Andy Kreitz and Eddie Gilbert of Liberty, S.C. He is the grandson of Ellen Gilbert and the late Aldon Gilbert Sr. and Frank Smith and the late Annette Rhodes.

Brandy Carroll, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Dawn Gilbert, sister of the groom, Ashley Henry and Misty Atwood.

Jason Greene, nephew of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Brian Swafford, Travis Smith and Brannon Underwood. They also served as ushers.

Flower girls were Alexis Carroll of Mooresville and Kylei Cartee of Liberty, nieces of the bride and groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

After a honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas, the couple resides in Pickens.

Engagement: Medders and Tietje

Sam and Suzie Medders, of Clemson, S.C., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Joy Catherine Medders, to Joshua William Tietje of Old Fort, N.C.

The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of DW Daniel High School and received a BS in Psychology and a minor in Christian Ministries in 2008 from Southern Wesleyan University. She plans to pursue a graduate degree in counseling.

The groom-elect is the son of Bill and Beth Tietje of Old Fort, N.C. He received a BA in Christian Ministry in 2008 from Southern Wesleyan University. He plans to pursue a career in pastoral ministry.

The wedding is planned for Jan. 3, 2009 at Central First Wesleyan Church in Central, S.C.

Dannielle Toland and Rim McNeill, both of Seneca, S.C., are pleased to announce their engagement.
The bride-elect is employed with Lowes.

The groom-elect is employed with Farmer’s Furniture in Seneca.

The wedding is planned for Oct. 4, 2008 at Saint Mark United Methodist Church in Seneca.
