Wedding: Davis and Crooks

Davis/Crooks

Kristen Ann Davis of Gaffney, S.C. and Jacob Sterling Crooks of Seneca, S.C. were married Friday, July 10, 2009 at 3 p.m. in a seaside ceremony in Grande Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The Rev. Joel Downer performed the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Lemuel Ramsey of Gaffney and the late Jimmy Ray Davis and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Galvin of Charlotte, N.C., Mrs. Azalea Davis of Gaffney and the late Dever Davis and Mrs. Margie Allison of Gaffney. She is a cum laude graduate of Clemson University and is a second-grade teacher in the Oconee County School District.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Crooks of Seneca and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Mize of Seneca and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Crooks of Seneca. He also attended Clemson University and owns and operates Jacob Crooks Construction.
Sharon Elizabeth Davis attended her sister as maid of honor.
The groom was attended by his father, Donnie Crooks, as best man.
Soloist was Heather Owens of Gaffney.
A reception, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey, was held in the couple’s honor on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009 at Duncan Estates in Spartanburg, S.C.
After a honeymoon in Jamaica, the newlyweds are making their home in Seneca.

Wedding: Hopkins and Crumpton

Carrie Marie Hopkins of Anderson, S.C. and Warren Richard Crumpton of Walhalla, S.C. were married on Oct. 10, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Westminster, S.C. officiated by Derrick Jones and Vic Blackwell.
The bride is the daughter of Monty and Janet McGuffin of Westminster and the late Miles Hopkins. She is a 2000 graduate of West-Oak High School and a 2008 graduate of Greenville Technical College with an Associates degree in nursing. She is currently employed as an RN at Anmed Health in Anderson.
The groom is the son of Richard Crumpton of Walhalla and Lynn McDowell of Westminster. He is a 2003 graduate of Walhalla High School and a 2008 graduate of Tri-County Technical College with a diploma in practical nursing. He is currently employed as a nurse at Brookside Living Center in Anderson.
Jessica Cole Blackwell, best friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Morgan Lee, cousin of the bride, of Walhalla, Summer Faulkenberry of Seneca, S.C., Tracie Smith of Camden, S.C. and Misty Burdette of Westminster, all friends of the bride. Alyssa and Meika Bladzik served as flower girls.
Phillip Scott Smith, best friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were AJ Puteri of New Jersey, Eric Cole of Westminster, Chad Smith of Camden and Jimmy Fultz of Walhalla, all friends.
Ushers were John Burdette and Philip Hopkins, brother of the bride, both of Westminster. Luke McGuffin served as ring bearer.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Magnolia Manor in Westminster.
The couple resides in Anderson.

Wedding: Knight and Blackwell

Knight/Blackwell

Sonya K. Knight and S. Kyle Blackwell were married on Aug. 22, 2009 at Keowee Key Golf & Country Club in Salem, S.C. officiated by the Rev. James Dyar. The bride was given away by her father, Harold Knight.
The bride is the daughter of Harold and Patsy Knight, both of Westminster, S.C. She is a 2004 graduate of West-Oak High School and a 2007 graduate of Greenville Technical College. She is employed as a dental hygienist at Mouzon Family Dentistry in Clemson, S.C. and also works part-time at Oconee Medical Center.
The groom is the son of Tim and Karen Blackwell, both of Westminster. He is a 2004 graduate of West-Oak High School and a 2008 graduate of Southern Wesleyan University. He is a financial advisor at Edward Jones Investment in Easley, S.C.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Country Club in Keowee.
The couple spent their honeymoon in Jamaica and now resides in their new home in Westminster.
