SENECA — If a picture is worth a thousand words, how much is a personalized throw afghan?

Opening a new studio in downtown Seneca, photographer Jeff Pruett of Creative Images Portrait Studio offers a variety of photography services in a variety of ways. Pruett relocated from his home studio in part to be closer to downtown culture.

“The historic value of Ram Cat Alley is three doors down,” he said. “A lot of (high school) seniors like the urban backdrop. There are plenty of interesting facades on buildings.”

An amateur photographer for 10 years, Pruett said he went into the studio business after constant recommendations from friends. After working from home and renting conference rooms, Pruett’s business grew large enough to open a shop of his own.

Whether in his 500-square foot studio or on location, Pruett is available for weddings, high school portraits, small children, pets, and family shots, among other occasions.

Promoting high-end products for budget prices, Pruett’s photography comes in traditional prints, along with mounted prints and gallery wraps. A throw afghan is also something he can offer, with one on display at his studio lobby.

What makes Pruett’s business unique, he said, is the ability to serve wide clientele, allowing time to get acquainted with customers so their personality is accurately conveyed through a portrait.

“I take the time to get to know clients before popping flashes in their eye,” he said. “It’s not your cookie-cutter big box studio.”
