SENECA – Randy Shakiem Haymon, an 18-year-old Seneca native, is behind bars, charged with strong arm robbery after allegedly attacking a man visiting a friend in Seneca.

The incident occurred Aug. 22 in Seneca when a 54-year-old black male was visiting an acquaintance at a Willow Street home off of Lindsay Road, Maj. John Covington said.

“He was on his way to visit when he was jumped by three assailants,” Covington said. “One assailant struck him in the face, and they robbed him of his money.”

The suspects, Haymon, Dregius Webb, 21, and Alexander O’Neil Hunter, 19, robbed the victim of some $135 in cash, Covington said. Haymon was brought into custody Wednesday, but the two other suspects remain at large. All three alleged assailants are from Seneca.

The victim was briefly treated at Oconee Medical Center and released for minor injuries, Covington said.

Haymon has not given any statement to law enforcement, Covington said, although at this point in the investigation, Seneca police do not need his cooperation, as they’ve already identified the rest of the suspects.

All they got was $135.00 dollars from robbing and hurting this person. Hopefully now the justice system will give the no less than 5 years to think about it. Was $135.00 worth it? The justice system needs to crack down on stuff like this. If you rob and steal from someone today and it is your first offense or your fith offense I personally think you should have to pay for your crime and not get a slap on the hand.
