High school roundup: Walhalla downs Eagles at home

WALHALLA — The Walhalla High School boys’ basketball team had 13 different players score as the Razorbacks downed Tamassee-Salem 85-53 on Tuesday night.

The Razorbacks hit nine three-pointers in the win, and were led by Grayson Gantt with 19 points on the night. Brent Arnold and Tyler Addis finished with 19 and 13 points, respectively, for Walhalla.

Tamassee-Salem was led in scoring by Greg Moss, who finished with 14 points on the night.

Walhalla will back in action this weekend at Rabun Co. (Ga.) for a tournament. The Razorbacks will play Nantahala (N.C.) on Friday at 5:30 p.m. to open play.

WESTMINSTER — The West-Oak High School boys’ basketball team evened its record on the season with a 67-36 win over Liberty on Tuesday night.

The Warriors (3-3) were led in scoring by Jonathan Earle, who led all scorers with 28 points. Blare Davis added 14 points for West-Oak.

The Warriors will be back in action on Friday at 7:30 p.m. against Crescent.

WALHALLA — The Walhalla High School girls’ basketball team picked up a 70-39 victory over Tamassee-Salem on Tuesday night.

The Razorbacks (3-3) were led by Shannon Pearce, who finished with a game-high 17 points. Tish Winchester added 15 points for Walhalla, while Ashlee Smith finished with 10 points.

Tamassee-Salem was paced by Rachel Wilbanks, who finished the night 12 points, while Morgan Grogan finished with 10 points for the Eagles.

Walhalla will travel to take part in a tournament at Rabun Co. (Ga.) this weekend in its next action, while the Eagles will travel to the Southside Christian Holiday Tournament on Saturday.

WESTMINSTER — The West-Oak High School girls’ basketball improved its record to 5-1 with a 58-53 win over former region rival Liberty on Tuesday night.

The Warriors were led in scoring by Morgan Black and Kalyn Stevenson, who each finished the night with 14 points. Brandi Kirk added another 12 points for the Warriors.

West-Oak will be back on the court on Friday night against Crescent at 6 p.m.

SENECA — The Oconee Christian Academy girls’ basketball team downed Greenville Home School on Tuesday night by a final score of 45-38.

The Warriors (4-2) got a 13-point effort from Alexandra Cloer in the win, while Ali Van Minos added 11 for OCA.

OCA will be back in action on Friday night against Brashier McCharter at 6 p.m.
