Paul K. Coppola, OD

Paul K. Coppola, OD is the owner and optometrist at Westminster Vision Associates on Retreat Street in Westminster. He is a graduate of the New England College of Optometry and received a Bachelor’s of Science degree majoring in chemistry and science from the University of Connecticut. He also did an externship at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md., the Cotting School for the handicapped and Omni Eye Services.

Coppola’s office offers a full range of professional eye care services in a friendly, personal setting. They provide comprehensive family eye care including disease management and digital retinal imaging. Coppola says there are so many things that can be done to improve someone’s sight even when they have been told by others that there isn’t. “We see it every day,” says Coppola. “There is no such thing as a person who can’t be helped in some way.”

Having eye problems himself in his younger years, he knew at the age of 10 that he wanted to be an optometrist. Growing up, he wore thick glasses and had a crossed eye and was told it couldn’t be fixed. Later on, an optometrist was found that was able to fix the problem and that, he said, changed his life. “If not for that, I wouldn’t have been able to go to college because I was considered impaired.”

Coppola has been in the business for 19 years. In his spare time he enjoys riding his motorcycle and performing with his rhythm and blues band Area 51. The band performs monthly at Music on Main in downtown Westminster. He and his wife, Elizabeth Prater, also foster dogs.
