SIX MILE — A 22-year-old Six Mile man has been charged by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly stabbing another man during an altercation last week.

Robert Aaron King, of Love and Care Road, was arrested Monday and charged with assault and battery with intent to kill. He was denied bond and is currently being held in the Pickens County Detention Center.

According to the incident report, Billy Joe Ellenburg, 32, of John Lewis Drive, Six Mile, told a Sheriff’s deputy while hospitalized at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Pickens that he was stabbed twice in the left side with a knife wielded by King.

Ellenburg told the deputy his girlfriend had informed him that she and King had gotten into an argument earlier in the day, and King ordered her off his property and issued an obscene remark.

Ellenburg told the deputy he later went to visit King but learned he was at another residence. When he confronted King about the previous incident, Ellenburg said King admitted he had told the female to get off his property but did not issue an obscene remark.

But Ellenburg said he then asked King’s girlfriend, who admitted that King indeed issued the remark. Ellenburg said he noticed King and two of King’s buddies outside, and one of them issued an obscene gesture. Ellenburg, who had entered his vehicle, said he then turned it around and went back to where they were standing.

The officer noticed that King’s nose appeared to be broken. However, after inquiring about the need for medical attention, he was informed by King that his friends would take care of it.
