Clemson forward James Mays is giving The Daily Journal / Daily Messenger a little insight of a Clemson players world as the Tigers embark on their first game in the NCAA in 10 years. Each day the Tigers are Tampa, Fla., the senior will give a tale of his day and what the team did on this historical trip in his own personal journal

Well, we got in yesterday (Wednesday) at around 3:30 or 4 p.m. We got off the plane and were given a little snack and sandwich and then we got to go to an area that has little restaurants and stores and stuff so we had a little time to go on our own as a team and got to pickup some stuff. We also got to hangout a little bit. That was pretty fun. It’s always nice when we just get to hangout.

We got back to the hotel around 9:30 and by 10 o’clock it was back to business, watching film and getting ready for the game come Friday.

We’re definitely going to enjoy ourselves when we get the opportunity, but Coach (Oliver Purnell) didn’t have to preach to us about why we are down here. We all know what we are here for. We want to shock the basketball world and move on to the next round.

It’s game time. It’s all about business now. That’s why we are down here. We want to show people that Clemson is a team to be reckoned with in the country and hopefully we can showcase our talent and show how we press and what kind of athletes we have on this team.
