SENECA — During the week of April 21 through 25, the Seneca Middle School Media Center was transformed into the Cats’ Café and Poetry House where 8th grade students eagerly shared their talents in a variety of ways. Students entered the mood-lit “Café” with their language arts class and were treated to cappuccino and a cookie, which they then enjoyed at the colorfully covered tables set with flowers. Each table also had a magnetic poetry boards available for the students to exercise their poetry muse while imbibing the refreshments. Students and some teachers then climbed on stage in the “Poetry House” and shared poetry and/or music of their own or from a treasured author or musician. Whether the work shared was funny, deeply emotional or moving, the talent shown by all was truly amazing and enjoyed by students, teachers and even family members who attended.
