CENTRAL — The SWU Golf team, looking to build off of last week's third place finish at the Jack Shadwick Invitational, stand in eighth place after the first day of the Chick-fil-a Invitational, hosted by Berry College.
Anthony Conn and Joshua Ivy each fired rounds of 73 to lead the way for the Warriors. Finishing out the scoring for SWU was Chris Newton (78) and Pieter Martin (79). Lee University holds the top spot in both the team and individual competition. Their team score of 284 leads Southeastern University by five strokes and M.J. Daffue and Wesley Nobles each shot 69 to lead the individual competition.
The second and final round of the tournament will be played on Tuesday at the Coosa Country Club.
