The crown jewel bequeathed to us by the founding fathers, and which lies at the very core of our liberty, is one man, one vote. If that concept fails, the nation falls. It is that simple. When someone commits voter fraud, no matter how he votes, he has robbed everyone of that crown jewel.

A supposedly non-partisan, tax-exempt group called ACORN is responsible for the voter fraud running rampant at this moment. The legitimate voter is being raped. There is no other word for it. Voter fraud in Ohio affects voters of both parties from South Carolina to Guam.

Although the leaders of ACORN profess to have the highest ideals and best of intentions, those they hire to round up prospective voters among the poor are not so morally pristine. In order to be paid, they must register names, any names.

When you hire bums off the street and tell them to get names in order to be paid, you may be sure they are going to come back with names, not necessarily those of real people or of bona fide voters. Among others, they registered Mickey Mouse. Another guy in Ohio, interviewed at random, saw no wrong in being registered to vote 73 times!

Like termites burrowing into the very foundation of democracy, voter fraud mutes the voice of democracy and steals elections. We are not talking about “hanging chads,” which at best was an occasional accident that may, or may not, have negated a vote! We are talking about out and out premeditated intentional fraud.

The Secretary of State in Ohio, a Democrat, refuses to act, leaving the impression that the Democratic party condones voter fraud, if it benefits the party. This is not fair to honest Democrats and is certainly unfair to Republican candidates.

After having raided ACORN headquarters in Nevada, the FBI has extended its investigation to 14 other states. ACORN maintains its innocence and its “non-partisan” status although it has never endorsed or assisted a Republican candidate in any manner. Quite the opposite; they have endorsed and assisted the Democrats in every contested election. Only an outraged Republican effort managed to strip a sizable gift to ACORN from the $750 billion dollar bailout bill.

When Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ) was running for Congress for the first time, the story is told that he and some of his cronies were holding a “voter registration” rally one night out in a cemetery.

One of the guys called out, “Hold the flashlight a little closer. I can’t make out the name on this tombstone.”

LBJ called back, “Well, put something down. He has as much right to vote as the next one.”

I won’t vouch for the truth of that story, but LBJ was known to use some strong persuasive tactics during his public service career. After all, this was Texas, times were hard and LBJ needed a job. Congress was one institution not apt to go out of business and offered a brighter future than teaching school.
