ANDERSON — The Seneca High School girls’ golf team stayed perfect in region play as it outshot Belton-Honea Path 198-208 at the par 37 Pine Lake golf course on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bobcats (2-1, 2-0 Western AAA) were led by Austin Ernst, who fired a two-over-par 39 to capture individual medalist honors.

Also for Seneca, Garyt Hamilton carded a 45, Taylor Hamilton shot a 49, while Claire Yuda, Laura Klukkertt and Sam Brown all finished with scores of 65.

Following a lengthy break, Seneca will be back in action on Sept. 23 when it hosts Daniel and Westside at Cross Creek Plantation in Seneca.

Greenville Home School 0

SENECA — The Oconee Christian Academy volleyball team swept Greenville Home School 3-0 on Tuesday night, winning each of the three sets by scores of 25-10.

On the night, Alexandra Cloer finished with 24 points on serves, while the Warriors’ lone senior, Ali Van Minos, led the team in blocking and hitting.

OCA’s next home match will be on Thursday against Anderson Christian School at the Utica Baptist Gymnasium.

Greenville 4 (tennis)

Daniel 3

GREENVILLE — The Daniel High School girls’ tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision at Greenville on Tuesday night.

The Lions (0-2, 0-1 Western AAA) managed two wins in singles play, as Tanner Lake and Elizabeth Hawthorne picked up victories to pull Daniel within 3-2 of the Red Raiders.

Chris Corontzes and Laura McLellan then tied the score for Daniel with a win in the first doubles set of the night before Greenville won the second doubles set to secure the match victory.

Daniel will be back in action on Thursday when it travels to Easley.
