PIEDMONT — The Seneca High School girls’ basketball team won its tenth straight game to open the season, rallying from a three-point halftime deficit to defeat Wren 49-38 on Friday.
The teams combined to shoot 53 free throws on the night, making it difficult for the Bobcats to play at their preferred frenetic pace. Seneca didn’t help its cause at the foul line either, however, converting just 10-of-28 attempts, while Wren made 16-of-25 attempts from the foul line.
Icey Patterson and Rachel Cunningham each scored a game-high 12 points for the Bobcats, while T’Ayuna Dendy joined them in double figures with 10 points.
Seneca (10-0) returns to the hardwood Tuesday, hosting cross-county rival Walhalla at 6 p.m.
