— George Cleveland, who has already filed lawsuits against the cities of Clemson and Seneca for $1 million each, has again filed a lawsuit against Seneca, this time in magistrate court.

In the suit, Cleveland chastises the city for the “deplorable” conditions of the bathrooms at the Shaver Complex, and criticizes the city for circumventing bidding the city’s bidding process. Cleveland states that Mayor Pro Tem Ronnie O’Kelley, sales manager for Leader Ford in Seneca, led an effort for the company to pay $1,500 towards a scoreboard at the Gignilliat field with the Leader Ford’s name on it without properly bidding.

Cleveland is asking for the court to order the city to publish their financial statements for the last three years in an itemized format in the paper, as well as pay him $6,500 in punitive damages. He’s asking the court to order Seneca to pay for his legal fees, court costs and any other relief the court sees justified, as well as reimburse him $218 in charges for a South Carolina Freedom of Information Act request, and reimburse Leader Ford the $1,500 it paid to the city for the scoreboard.

He also wants the Leader Ford name off of the scoreboard.

Michael Smith, the city’s attorney, is defending Seneca in the matter, and has confirmed the city is disputing the suit.

A private company donated $1500 towards a new scoreboard for the city's recreation (public) fields, and Mr. Cleveland wants $6500 in punitive damages?!?!?! How did that hurt you, Mr. Cleveland, that a private company donated money out of their pockets, not yours, that you feel you need to be paid $6500?

Wow. When will it end? It seems that every lawsuit this man files is more and more frivolous. I wonder how much money he has cost others (the county, City of Clemson, etc. etc. etc.) with these 'lawsuits'.

The courts would be impossibly clogged if a lawsuit is filed for every dirty public bathroom! And how many other scoreboards in the COUNTRY have sponsor's names on them?

George - enough, already ... time to get a life (or a job, maybe) and stop the lawsuits.

Once again, Mr. Cleveland is sueing the same people residents) that he claims he is trying to "Protect"... Wow I guess some people have to be in the limelight all the time or they are upset. Well, there ya go Mr. Cleveland enjoy your 15 minutes as you are forgotten soon after.

Perhaps the city needs to counter sue for legal fees to defend these silly lawsuits.

And Mr Cleveland, don't send me emails I don't read them.

If the legal system will allow these frivolous suits to go forward then I'm sure there must be enough suits that could be filed against this person that would back him into a corner so tight that he will start screaming uncle.

The bathrooms are dirty....ROFL!! Leader Ford stepped up during a brutal economy to sponsor the scoreboard...So what? They should be commended. Mr. Cleveland will you or your thriving used car business meet the bid of $1500? These silly lawsuits will not endear you to the local residents for a political career or get you a board seat in the NAACP. Please stop wasting all our time and the courts time. Go to Georgia, I hear the bathrooms are a mess.

No, Mr. Cleveland don't email me and avoid the blog with your answer as I stated before I delete all your emails unread.
