Four Oconee County students, who attend the Protective Services Class taught at the Fred P. Hamilton Career Center, received sponsorships to attend the Nathan M. Wolfe Law Cadet Academy recently held at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in Columbia.
The Charles McGee Byrd Post 120 of The American Legion of Seneca sponsored Chevis Sheriff, of Seneca High School, and Monah Gaines, of Tamassee-Salem High School. Herb Tyler and Chick-fil-A of Seneca sponsored Tamara Owens of West-Oak High School, and the 10th Circuit Solicitor’s Office of Chrissy Adams sponsored Damian Des Marais of West-Oak High School.
Students in the Protective Services class, taught by Robbie Morris, receive an overview and understanding of law and how it is written and enforced. The Law Cadet Academy, which is held over a one-week period, provides the students with an opportunity to increase their knowledge about law enforcement and leadership.
