Stephen Bell is the new Life and Enrichment Director at Belvedere Commons of Seneca, formerly Benton Village of Seneca. He has been with the company for 2 ½ years beginning as a caregiver and later in environmental services.

He is responsible for scheduling life-enriching activities for the residents from Bingo, to exercising, to sharing memories. He is there to make sure the residents are enjoying their later years. Along with the decorating, he also has a new theme each month to keep things interesting, schedules lots of events for the families and community and is always looking for volunteers to assist.

Bell says what he enjoys most is listening to the stories of the residents. “I love the residents and their stories of the past,” says Bell. “I love my coworkers; everyone here is like family.”

He is also looking forward to a celebration he’ll be heading up on Saturday to celebrate the summer and the new name. From 5 p.m. – 8 p.m., there will be hot dogs plates, a 40-foot obstacle course, a bounce house, a dunk tank, a clown and much more for the entire community to enjoy.

Just recently receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Human Services Management, he aspires to one day become a caseworker working with the elderly, children or the disabled.

In his spare time, he enjoys hanging out with family and friends while having “coffee talk” — reflecting on the day, the past and the future.
