— Crucial issues impacting the Anderson, Oconee, Pickens region and its educational and economic health will be featured at a youth forum June 24 at the Anderson Civic Center, 3207 Martin Luther King Blvd.

This full-day event (8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.), hosted by WorkLink and the United Way of Anderson County, will showcase “Train the Trainer” sessions on topics such as optimizing the relationship between business and education and “Millennial, Who Are These Kids?” by recognized community leaders.

In the afternoon, nationally recognized speaker Ruby Payne, PhD., will give a presentation on “Generational Poverty” and its effects on the family, education and the community. Educators and service providers across the region will benefit from this event through attainment of renewal credits.

“More than 1,000 educators and service providers are expected to participate,” said Nita Colman, WorkLink Executive Director. “Business and community leaders should also attend the event since the cultivation of our next generation’s leaders is a priority for all of us.”

A registration fee of $35 is required to reserve a space.
