— A 22-year-old Seneca woman was arrested Wednesday for allegedly threatening a minor with a knife during a verbal argument.

Shontai Renae Mulwee was arrested on simple assault and booked at Oconee County Detention Center, where she was later released on $1092.50 personal recognizance bond.

Seneca police officers responded just after noon Wednesday to a complaint of two females fighting at the South Carolina Regional Housing apartments on East South Sixth Street.

Upon arrival, a crowd of witnesses told the officer that Mulwee came outside with a knife, threatening to cut another girl and her 14-year-old cousin.

The minor female told officers Mulwee instigated an argument, cursing at the two females, and ultimately threatening to cut them before another party took the knife away from her.

Mulwee was located inside one of the apartments while three witnesses provided statements. The knife was taken as evidence and Mulwee was placed on trespass notice.

That same morning, a Westminster man was taken into custody by Oconee County Sheriff’s deputies for allegedly assaulting another man earlier this month.

Kevin Ray Knight, 36, was arrested Wednesday morning for the June 1 assault of a man Knight believed owed his father money.

The victim said he was pushed to the ground, evidenced by his torn and dirtied shirt and scratched neck. Pictures were taken and a written statement was provided.

When warrants were obtained, deputies made the arrest. Knight was released on $1092.50 personal recognizance later that day.
