Seneca Rotary Club to hold tournament

SENECA — Once again, local anglers are gearing up for the Seneca Rotary Club’s Open Bass Tournament on Lake Keowee.

The fifth annual event, open to all competitors male and female of all ages, will take place on Saturday, April 4 at South Cove Park on Lake Keowee, with all proceeds going to the Seneca Rotary Club’s scholarship fund.

The competition will get under way at first light and end at 3 p.m.

There is a $1,500 guaranteed first-place prize, while the second-place finisher will receive $300. The third- and fourth-place finishers will receive $200 and $100, respectively.

Trophies will be awarded to the first- and second-place finishers, while there will also be door prizes given out.

The entry fee per boat will be $100, and those under the age of 18 will require written permission from a parent or guardian to participate.

Sponsors for the event include The Daily Journal / Daily Messenger, Byrd-McLellan, Bob and Debbie Dubose, Universal Construction & Renovations, Ralph’s Trophy Shop, Oconee Federal Savings and Loan, WGOG and Blue Ridge Eye Center.
