Lake Hartwell Association is having its first regional meeting for members and guests at 7 p.m., Thursday, at the Holiday Inn Express in Lavonia, Ga. The Holiday Inn is located on the north side of I-85 at Exit 173.

Colonel Edward J. Kertis, commander of the Savannah District of the Corps of Engineers, will be the guest speaker. Larry Dyck will explain the CoveKeeper Project. Mike Massey and Joe Brenner, both Association past presidents, will track progress of legislative efforts. Jeff Larson, Georgia Environmental Protection Dept., and Pat Goran, Association director and Georgia Water Council member, will present goals and activities of the Georgia Water Council.

The Lake Hartwell Association was established in 1990 to advocate for its members. Its membership is currently more than 2,000 families and businesses in South Carolina and Georgia.
