CENTRAL — After helping the Daniel High School football team to a third straight Western 3A region championship, seniors Matt Craig and Chris Turner have been selected to play in the 62nd Annual North-South All-Star Game.
The rosters for the game, which will be played at noon on Dec. 12 at Shaw Memorial Stadium at North Myrtle Beach High School, were released on Monday.
Craig is a starting left tackle on offense for the Lions, though he is listed on the North roster as a defensive lineman. He is a big reason the Lions average 347.1 yards per game, including 217.5 yards on the ground.
Turner has been a steady linebacker for the Lions, as he has 35 tackles, including five for loss, on the season to help lead a Daniel defense allows just 129.5 yards and 4.2 points per game.
Daniel now has three players participating in postseason all-star games, as defensive back / wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was named to the Shrine Bowl last week.
