The Pickens County Election Commission Thursday certified provisional ballots from Tuesday’s municipal elections, including the Central mayoral and council races.

While the outcome remained the same, the vote totals did change slightly.

Central Mayor Mac Martin, who defeated challenger and current council member David Donald, received three additional votes to Donald’s one — giving Martin 166 votes to 99 for Donald. While Paige Bowers, who won one of the three Central Town Council seats, did not see an increase or decrease in her vote total of 139, Benjie Cumbie and Ken Dill each picked up two additional votes to raise their totals to 189 and 131, respectively. Incumbent Tracey Reynolds, who lost her re-election bid, received two additional votes to bring her total to 91 while Joe N. Moss, J Wallace Palmer and Jerry Turner received one vote each to raise their totals to 83, 65 and 23 votes, respectively.

There were no provisional write-in votes for Central mayor or Town Council.

While voter turnout throughout Pickens County was light, as only 9.44 percent of registered voters went to the polls, Central fared slightly better. Approximately 262 of the town’s 1,997 registered voters, or 13.12 percent, cast their ballots.
