West-Oak High School's Adrien Bibb
West-Oak High School junior running back Adrien Bibb is a dual threat for the Warriors, as he leads the team in both rushing and receiving this season. Bibb had 100 rushing yards a week ago against Seneca and has 630 yards and six touchdowns for the year. Coming out of the backfield, Bibb claims team highs in receptions (17), receiving yards (191) and touchdowns (2). This week, Bibb and the Warriors will be looking for the first playoff win in school history when they travel to Sirrine Stadium to face Greenville.
JOURNAL: Talk a little bit about the chance you guys have of earning that first playoff victory on Friday night.
Bibb: We've got a get good chance. We've got a good offensive scheme going on and the defense always shuts them down, so we've just got to go down there and play strong and play our best.
JOURNAL: Do you guys talk much about the fact West-Oak has never won a playoff game?
Bibb: We don't talk about it much. We expect it and we're confident.
JOURNAL: Last week was a tough loss at home against Seneca. What happened that night?
Bibb: I think we thought we had it in the bag, but I guess we really didn't. Everyone just expected to (beat) them, but they came out and played hard.
JOURNAL: What did your coaches say after that game as you looked to move on from the loss?
Bibb: They told us we have a playoff game and just to worry about that. They told us not to worry about the loss because it didn't really mean anything because we're still in the playoffs.
JOURNAL: Greenville has had a strong season. What do you know about them?
Bibb: We know they're fast, but that's about it. I don't know much about them.
