Nowell/Martin

Mary McConnell Nowell became the bride of Charles Richard Martin Jr. on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009. The three o’clock wedding took place in Travelers Rest, S.C. at the home of John and Martha Duggan. John Duggan officiated the service.

Mac is the daughter of Greg and Cathie Nowell of West Union, S.C. and the granddaughter of Emily Dendy Nowell of Richland, S.C. and the late Arthur Nowell. She is a 1997 graduate of Walhalla High School, a 2001 graduate of Columbia College with a B.A. in elementary education and is a national board certified teacher. Mac currently teaches second grade at Sunset Park Elementary in Rock Hill, S.C. and is a coach for the “Girls on the Run” program.

Rick is the son of Charles and Gladys Martin Sr. of Easley, S.C. and Debbie and Donald Boggs of Six Mile, S.C.. He is a 1994 graduate of Daniel High School and a 1998 graduate of Clemson University with a B.A. in secondary education. Rick teaches social studies at South Pointe High School in Rock Hill and is the varsity football offensive line coach and head junior varsity football coach.

The couple will reside in Rock Hill.
