Update: The county crew is back. They've insisted they remove the azalea "hedge" which I started 35 years ago as an erosion control effort in a muddy ditch. I'm meeting again Monday to make one last plea. But the following is an opportunity for citizens to retake some logic to the situation.

The editorials in the papers may explain this never-before practice of the County Roads department. Basically, the articles point out the excess money now available to county operations and possibly the big truck and crew never seen in Bayshore since I've lived here. You've read my thoughts on differentiating "residential" from "rural" county roads that could regain our neighborhood maintenance control.

This is a good time for personal letters to the editor, Brett McLaughlin, at the Journal and to Willie Tell. As suggested, I also will call our council members.

The editorials make timely the development of official practices to achieve a rational treatment of residential taxpayers and their properties.

Maybe we can get protection from the county's new, misdirected energy and wealth.
