CLINTON — Presbyterian College student-athlete, and former Walhalla standout, Matt Freeman has earned first-team academic all-district first-team accolades for district three, as announced by ESPN The Magazine on Thursday.
Freeman, also a state wrestling champion for the Razorbacks, has played in eight games this seasons, racking up 18 tackles. Five of his stops have been unassisted, including a season-best two at Furman in the opener.
Freeman’s single-game high this year came against Chattanooga, where he was in on five tackles. For his career, Freeman has played in 39 games. He has 26 solo tackles and 45 assisted tackles for 71 total stops.
Freeman has recorded six tackles for loss and three sacks in his three-plus seasons with the Blue Hose.
Freeman currently holds a 3.86 GPA in music performance.
He now has a chance to earn academic All-America accolades.
