CENTRAL — Frank Toscano, a junior from La Union, El Salvador, has been named the Beef O'Brady's Student-Athlete of the Week at Southern Wesleyan University.
Last Friday, Toscano figured in all three of the Southern Wesleyan goals, scoring one goal in each half along with assisting on a goal by Henry Villafranco. Toscano's four goals this season is tied for the team lead with three of his teammates.
The victory over Emmanuel College clinched fourth place in the Southern States Athletic Conference standings and now the Warriors will host Lee University in the first round of the SSAC Tournament this Friday at 7:30 p.m. With the win, Southern Wesleyan also increased their lead in the Lil' Bronze Peach standings to 8-0.
