PENDLETON — The Pride of Pendleton Marching Band won the 2A State band championship in Batesburg-Leesville last weekend.

The state title come just one week after the band won the 2A Upper state band championship in Boiling Springs.

“They (the band) have worked very hard to become so successful,” said Lark Martin, president of the Pendleton Band Boosters.

“They performed their show one last time Friday night at the home football game and the Mayor Carol Burdette recognized them during half time,” Martin added. The band is directed by Rob Smith.
