Willie,
Concerning the message in “Tell Willie” about the Farmer’s Market, evidently they were the people I bought them cardboard tomatoes from. If these sorry, so-called farmers would get out and grow their stuff, then people wouldn’t be calling griping about the Farmer’s Market. They’re too lazy to grow them, and they’re hauling them up and down the road. Yes, I’m going to complain about it for as long as I can.
Willie says:
I can see that you are.
Willie,
My husband was involved in a car accident at the intersection of Lindsey Road and By-Pass 123. Since the accident happened inside city limits, city patrol was called out to work the accident. I would like to send out a great big thank you to Officers Olsen and Moore for the professional and courteous way they handled the situation. They are to be commended for their kindness toward my husband and myself. Officers Olsen and Moore, thank you for a job very well done. My husband and I are grateful to you. (name deleted)
Willie says:
Here’s hoping the officers involved will get the message of gratitude and praise for the professionalism you felt they served you with!
Willie,
Oconee County Councilmen should look into receiving federal stimulus money for road improvement and beautification along the corridor of where Hwy. 93 crosses over into Oconee County up to Blooms. The plan should call for adding sidewalks, bike paths and lining the road with trees. It would improve the appearance of Oconee County as well as encouraging people visiting Clemson and attending sporting events to venture into Oconee County and even the city of Seneca’s Ram Cat Alley. If we want to bring jobs to the area, the county will have to look more progressive.
Willie says:
Sounds like a great idea to Willie. I’m all for spending the stimulus money close to home.
Willie,
A person who goes to church regularly, attends church gatherings, singings, and anything concerning church is a good Christian. I thought Christian people would listen to a friend in need, a friend with a personal problem, try to guide a friend in the right direction toward the Lord. There is a lady who told a friend that if she had nothing to talk about other than her problems, she did not want to talk to her. The lady claims to be a good Christian lady. Well, a good true Christian will listen to one with a problem. People need to read more Bible to see what the true meaning of a Christian is. If there is a true Christian person out there, pray for both of these people, please, to make it right with God!
Willie says:
It’s hard to truly know if either of these ladies is not living the Christian message. One is wanting to discuss her problems. The other is withholding a listening, sympathetic ear. Only God knows the true situation. Sometimes people dwell too much on their problems, refuse to try to solve them and are too self-centered in their outlook. Anyone who reads this and cares too, these friends can surely use your prayers to guide their relationship.
Willie,
I saw the comment from the business owner that was fed up with the telephone company and its monopoly. Well, there is good news. Make a call to the folks over at Innova.net here in Seneca. They can get you phone lines and Internet. They are local and understand local businesses. Best of all, they are as nice as they can be. I have used them for years and will never go back to the big phone guys. We do have choices.
Willie says:
Glad you made a choice that works for you.
Willie,
Does anyone know of someone who can smooth out the nicks my garbage disposal afflicted on some of my stainless utensils?
Willie says:
???
Willie,
For the person with the squirrel problem, there’s a high frequency device with a motion sensor that is battery operated that is an animal repeller. It is sold by Van Hauser Co. out of New York, N.Y. 10001. When the squirrel gets 20 to 30 feet near it, it turns on and emits a high frequency signal and they run away.
And …
Willie,
About the person with a squirrel problem, I’d guess you’d say I’m a real outdoor person and like being in my yard and the two most-asked questions to me are how to keep squirrels out of hummingbird feeders and how to get rid of squirrels period. The best way is to get an outside cat and for the hummingbird feeders, axle grease. It stays on there for the whole season.
And …
Willie,
For the person with the squirrel problem, tell them to get a cat to stay outside. That will get rid of the squirrels in a heartbeat. If they’re allergic to cats, I don’t know what to tell them, but a cat is the best way to go to get rid of squirrels.
Willie says:
Willie may be missing something here, but for folks with squirrel problems AND birdfeeders, seems like a cat would get rid of more than just squirrels … tweet, tweet.
Willie,
I’m calling because it seems like everything is about money. People have lost compassion for other people. You call a doctor or dentist or whoever and if you only have part of the money, they don’t want to see you; they want their pockets filled with every dime you can give them and this is not right. We need to have compassion for people; people without money and with money. We’ve lost our desire to help people. Our compassion for mankind not only in Oconee County, but all over the world.
Willie says:
Sadly, Willie may have to agree with you that compassion is not valued as highly as it once was. Keep in mind, though, that doctors are people too.
Willie,
I think our police chief in Salem, Chief Massey, is doing a great job in our town. He is helping the citizens of our community implement a community watch group, and he tries to make our town a nice and safe place to live and have a business. He also interacts with our community and schools. I think he is a super asset to our town.
Willie says:
Thanks for writing in with your approval for the Salem police chief. He will be gratified, I’m sure.
Willie,
This one is for the one who wanted to know about child support (non-support). It can be up to six months before one is arrested. Yeah, it is to where if they pay one week, they don’t get arrested. I know that at one point and time they did draw names at random. It also depends if you are in cahoots to know who has a warrant. I know several people out working under the table who probably will never see their support paid for.
Willie says:
What Willie doesn’t get about this whole problem of people not paying their child support is the operative word — CHILD! Do not these men and women love their children and want to take care of them?

Nope, cats don't get rid of squirrels. Speaking from experience.

Don't put utensils in the garbage disposal perhaps? I'm trying to figure out how the nicks got on them in the first place.
