Kristen Ann Davis of Gaffney, S.C. and Jacob Sterling Crooks of Seneca, S.C. were married Friday, July 10, 2009 at 3 p.m. in a seaside ceremony in Grande Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The Rev. Joel Downer performed the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Lemuel Ramsey of Gaffney and the late Jimmy Ray Davis and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Galvin of Charlotte, N.C., Mrs. Azalea Davis of Gaffney and the late Dever Davis and Mrs. Margie Allison of Gaffney. She is a cum laude graduate of Clemson University and is a second-grade teacher in the Oconee County School District.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Crooks of Seneca and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Mize of Seneca and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Crooks of Seneca. He also attended Clemson University and owns and operates Jacob Crooks Construction.

Sharon Elizabeth Davis attended her sister as maid of honor.

The groom was attended by his father, Donnie Crooks, as best man.

Soloist was Heather Owens of Gaffney.

A reception, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey, was held in the couple’s honor on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009 at Duncan Estates in Spartanburg, S.C.

After a honeymoon in Jamaica, the newlyweds are making their home in Seneca.
