CLEMSON — Clemson will take two freshmen, a sophomore and two seniors to the Isleworth Collegiate in Windermere, Fla. this weekend. Clemson will be one of 15 teams competing for the championship of the sixth annual event that is the highlight of the fall college golf season.

Seven of the top 10 teams in the nation will be in the field that will play 54 holes over three days, Oct. 25-27 on the par 72 Isleworth Country Club course that is 7,491 yards in length. Clemson is ranked 23rd in the latest Golfweek poll and 22nd in the Golf stat computer poll.

Clemson is coming off a second place finish at The Brickyard Invitational in Macon, Ga. Oct. 10-12. The tournament at Isleworth will be Clemson's last tournament of the fall season.

This will be Clemson's sixth appearance at Isleworth. The Tigers finished sixth last year and a team-best second-place finish the previous year (fall of 2007). Georgia has dominated the event with four team victories in five years. The Bulldogs are in the field again this year.

Clemson will be led by senior Ben Martin who enters with a 72.20 stroke average for his five rounds of play. The 2009 US Amateur runnerup had a ninth place finish in the opening tournament of the year at The Carpet Classic. He did not play in the event last year. In fact, no one in the Clemson lineup this year played at Isleworth last year.

Jacob Burger has the second best stroke average among golfers in the Clemson lineup this coming weekend. The sophomore from Orangeburg has a 73.20 stroke average for two events and has a team best three rounds under par in his five total rounds.

Luke Hopkins, Clemson's only other senior on the roster, is coming off a 10th place finish at The Brickyard, the top finish of his career. He had rounds of 73-69 in the rain shortened event.

Freshmen Crawford Reeves and Corbin Mills round out the Clemson lineup. Reeves has a 76.20 average for his two tournaments, but had a final round 70 at The Brickyard to help Clemson to the second place team finish. Mills played at The Brickyard as an individual and had a 151 total. He won team qualifying for this event when he had a final round 67 at Anderson Country Club on Tuesday.
