LOUISVILLE, Ky. — With former West-Oak High School standout Brian Oakes earning all-region honors, his Spartanburg Methodist cross country team, along with the women's team, claimed its eighth consecutive region title on Saturday at the National Junior College Athletic Association's Region X tournament held at Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky.
Oakes, who was also a standout for the Warriors' basketball team, was one of five freshmen to make the all-region team from SMC.
