CENTRAL — Becky Alma, a sophomore from Port St. Lucie, Fla., has been named the Beef O'Brady's Student-Athlete of the Week at Southern Wesleyan University.

Alma played a key role in victories over Toccoa Falls College and Berry College and recorded a triple-double in Southern Wesleyan's 1-3 loss to Brenau University. On Wednesday, she had seven kills, 21 assists, and four service aces as the Warriors defeated the Toccoa Falls 3-1. The following night against Brenau, Alma had 10 kills, 24 assists and 13 digs for her first triple-double of the season. In the Warriors final match of the week, a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory against Berry, she was one dig short of another triple double as she had 13 kills, 13 assists, and nine digs.

Alma leads the Warriors with an average of 4.0 assists per set and is currently second on the Warriors with an average of 1.6 kills per set.

The Warriors have four matches remaining in their regular season, with their next match this Saturday at 1 p.m. against Faulkner University. The match is the Warriors "Dig Pink" match which is an effort to raise money for breast cancer research.
