It's simple...our Community - like every Community in the nation - is overweight. A busy life with constant
stress encourages poor eating habits and that causes extra weight. And, while most of us worry about what
the extra pounds do to our appearance, the real problem is what they do to our health.
Excess weight is a contributor to a number of disease issues. The list ranges from heart conditions to
diabetes to muscular stress to a whole lot more. The bottom line is that excess weight can shorten
your life.
That's why the Daily Journal/Messenger and OMH have teamed to sponsor the Step Up-Scale Down
challenge. It's a fun way that you and your team of friends, co-workers, club members or whatever can lose
weight and you just may win $1,000 for your favorite charity.
The team that loses the largest percentage of body weight during the challenge time period
will have $1,000 donated in their name to their favorite charity.
Registration has already closed but you can still follow the action of the teams that are participating. Check out the related story section below for updates and articles about health living. |
