Lena Ruth Martin McCullough, 86, died Sunday, May 4 at AnMed Health.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 8 at Clemson Presbyterian Church. Visitation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emory University School of Medicine or School of Nursing.
Mrs. McCullough was born January 9, 1922, in Pendleton, S.C. the daughter of Fred Furman and Ona Mears Martin. She was a member of the Clemson Presbyterian Church. She attended Emory University School of Nursing and served as a Navy nurse in World War II. After the war, she worked at Oconee Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister and will be dearly missed by her family and the many friends she met along her way.
Surviving are her three sons Howard Lee, Larry and David McCullough; sister Laura Martin Newman Stevenson; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both parents; four brothers Frank, Ellis, Clyde and Wyatt Martin and three sisters Jennie Martin, Grace Martin Kelly and Sara Martin Duttry.
