CENTRAL, S.C. — Manila Sue Phillips Winkler, 67, of 718 Pepper St., died Wednesday, July 1 at her home.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 3 in the Chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with the Reverends Mike Johnson and James Wiggins officiating. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca, SC 29672. The family is at the home.

Born in Jackson County, N.C., she was a daughter of the late George W. and Iona Hamilton Phillips. She worked in textiles and was a member of Freedom Fellowship Church in Central.

Surviving are two sons, Worn Winkler Jr. and wife, Tina of Seneca, and Mitch Phillips of Seneca; stepson, Roger Dale Winkler of Central; two sisters, Louvera “Biddy” Price of Columbia, S.C. and Loretha “Ret” Gossett of Pickens, S.C.; a granddaughter, Alexandria Belle Winkler and nine step-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, F.W. Winkler; two brothers, Doug M. Phillips and Robert L. Phillips; a sister, Virginia Gibson and a step-grandson.
