WESTMINSTER, S.C. — Madeline Payne McGugan, 88, wife of the late Anglish McGugan, of 409 Little Country Lane, died Wednesday, Nov. 4 at Lila Doyle Nursing Care Facility in Seneca, S.C.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7 from the Chapel of Davenport Funeral Home with burial to follow in Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. today, Nov. 6 at Davenport Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 500 Poplar Springs Road, Walhalla, SC 29691. The family is at the residence.

A native of Blairsville, Ga., Mrs. McGugan was the daughter of the late Raymond Payne and Alma Young Dills. She was a homemaker and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

Mrs. McGugan is survived by son, Harold McGugan of Westminster; daughters, Evelyn Franks of Garden City, Von Gibson of Gastonia, N.C., Van Davenport of Gastonia and Gerie Mason of Lincolnton, N.C.; brother, Wayne Dills of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters, Mary Smart of Blairsville, Ga. and Bertha Crisp of Blairsville; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
