This odd contraption Robert Gentry is using is called a metal bender. Before the purchase of this machine Robert would bend all the metal by hand.

Robert Gentry poses next to one of his creations 'Bob', a 300-pound metal donkey. The inspiration for Bob came from a mission trip Robert took to the Dominican Republic. While there he saw a wagon piled high with plantains being pulled by a donkey. From that memory, came 'Bob'.

Robert Gentry uses metal sheers to cut out different shaped pieces of sheet metal. He then lays them out and uses them to form his unique creations.
