Not all serious business is conducted at Salem Lion's meetings. Lion Bill Paulson, in recognition of his birtday, was offered a cupcake and a solitary candle in compliance with the rules and regulations at the restaurant. Due to a tough economy, cakes will be replaced by cupcakes and to avoid possible violations of the local fire code with lit candles in excess of 70. Nevertheless, Bill thanked everyone for their show of kindness towards him in his reclining years!
