Steven is an award-winning sportswriter and the Sports Editor for The Daily Journal / Daily Messenger. He won first place for Spot Sports Story in all daily papers with circulations of less than 26,000 at the 2007 South Carolina Press Association awards and second place in the same category in 2008. Steven has worked for The Daily Journal/Messenger since the fall of 2004, after graduating from Clemson University with a BA in English that summer.
Steven paginates the sports section, edits copy and coordinates the sports department. He also writes a weekly column, 'On The Beat,' and helps with the reporting duties. In his spare time, Steven enjoys watching and playing sports and spending time with his beautiful wife, Melissa.
