On Political scientist at Clemson takes heat

Good role for the media whether in the blogosphere or print: Keep the information clear and flowing. Dave has too long been seen as an oracle ... now, it's clearer how paid he was/is.

On Tell Willie, 10-28

You know, Mountainman, Germany was destroyed by two world wars and they re-built a strong, viable economy and a good education system. While clearly they haven't "gotten over" the wars, that country has moved on ... You can probably come up with a few other countries that have been destroyed and then, re-built.

Why can't SC?

Many here just don't get it ... the Civil War was over almost 150 years ago, and you still wallow in the event. Get over it. Move ahead into the 21st century. Do something to build this state's economy and education other than whine about something in the past that you can't change.

By the way, I am a Southerner. Family owned slaves and fought in the Civil War. But I certainly don't think about the Civil War on a daily basis. It's history. And, a sad history at that.

On Protecting those without a voice

Too bad there's not equal devotion to protecting infants or domestic partners. Since SC is #8 in domestic violence deaths ... and what? #1, #10 in infant deaths? Not sure of the exact ranking, but SC is way up there in not providing care for its infants.
