Jm Barker, totally ignoring the issues that Bednar and many others are addressing - with a few choice words of "misconceptions and falsities" and other diversions from the total cess pool that he and his buddies have created in the Clemson Adminstration is bewildering to me and should be sickening to the Alumni and friends of Clemson University. Buying favors with salary increases, hiding behind a bunch of generalities that are so far beyond egotistical in nature - believing that because HE (the non elected President) says it, all the world beneath him will believe it - cannot be cured with Immodium alone. The Man had his Son hired - then states that because he slipped around the intention of the law - "it's not Nepotism according to the State" - bull - this is unadulterated Nepotism in it's ugliest form - and, that is the most gracious thing that can be said for Jim Barker and his group of kiss rear administrators that are unfortunately in charge of our fine University. Pray, Cheer for Prof. Bednar and those who are showing the honesty and guts to tell the truth.
How can you read quotes from Jim Barker and not be sick on your stomach? The man is a self centered, self indulged, self praising hypocrite who looks to the following things (1) James Barker (2) James Barker's comfort (3) James Barkers future (4) James Barker's rear (5) James Barker's resume (5) James Barker and a distant last but, hanging in there (6) James Barker's Buddies that make a Hugh Hefner type residence out of Clemson University!
If James Barker paid just a little attention to the job that he is paid to do rather than looking to build his resume, the employees of the University, the Taxpayers would be better off and the Alumni could gain back some of the dignity that has been lost to his boondogling!! All of his favoritism, rewarding his chosen few, ignoring the others, now NEPOTISM, continuing to ignore blatant harassment and retalliation carried on by his Staff and their "Assocites (VP's)" - The facts are appalling - look for yourself - the proof in in his actions!
There has been no MISLEADING information circulating about the salaries, "unusual"/preferential salary increases, suspicious timing of salary increase, salary increases being totally restricted to Barker's cronies - extremely high paid (Provost) TERI retreads sucking the resources from the University via Pres. Barker's "scratch my back and I'll give you a fine massage" operating agenda - facts are facts - Barker, Helms want to create doubt but, they are public records - they want to feed you this totally BS line about "misleading facts" - and, worst, they expect you to believe them. It's an ugly, shameful, hypocritical and vastly unhealthy environment that exists at our Clemson University - Ms. Shipley had to have gotten a little bit sick in her mouth as she prepared this story.
Great comments and thoughts. Mike O'Cain was a real Clemson guy andgiven an opportunity to work on his on could have been a very good (not elite) OC at Clemson. One thing we know for sure, he had Clemson's number when he was at NC State.
Given those accolades, I don't think Mike was the (OC) answer to Clemson's future then or now. Now, a QB Coach might have been a really solid move.
We needed - and still do - need a creative football mind that understands what it takes for an Offense flourish and also a mind that can recognize what a defense is doing and what it takes to stay - constantly - a step ahead - even change the plan during the game - wow, that'd be something at Clemson - and apart from that - someone who has the authority and nerve to use that creative mind in selecting players, playing players, disciplining players and calling plays. It's obvious that has been sporatic at best in the past 10 years.
I and, I hope, all Clemson Fans everywhere respect and wish Mike O'Cain the best at whatever he does. Seems to be doing OK now!
A strong round of applause and loud Thank You to Judge Perry for standing stedfast for truth and justice. We, Clemson Alumni and friends must support Judge Perry and Mr. Troutman in this fight against the "group" that have someway taken control of this fine University. We should demand that, not only Mr. Troutmans grievance be heard and acted upon, but, many other ugly truths be exposed within the University. Beneath the beautiful "Orange Paw" there is blatant discrimination, bullying, intimidation, sexual harassment, an atmosphere of hostility and extreme favoritism that continues strongly today. Oh, not admitted to or seemingly concerned about it, the President, the direct staff and favored individuals go about the daily life of enjoying the fruits available from taxpayers money. You would hope that you could say, they just don't know about it - BUT, in fact they do, and their response is to intimidate anyone who complains with threats of retaliation, telling them that people will get mad if they know they've complained, there's nothing that can be done and, if they don't like it, just leave"! Meanwhile, they enjoy the substantial increases in salary while the others receive nothing, they enjoy material comforts of outlandish frivolties in their offices and taxpayers funded vehicles (Ford F250 truck, now what staff member needs such) - while the people, and most especially those who have refused to do or say what the "leaders" want, have been relegated to do menial tasks, refused promotions or even transfers and have been offered no compensation increases over years of service - mind you with years of being rated in the Universities terms - substantially exceeds all expections - the absolute best that you can receive. It's deplorable!

In what country do you live, Sir/Madam? This Country, USA, has always been about innocent until proven guilty.
Maybe - on the far outside, if you were in Social Services or Law Enforcement but, my guess there moved to job where you were not counseling, etc. McDaniel is only playing football. An amateur at that, there is no job involved.
