Openup, I'm not sure but I know that she is a good person. I don't know if I would be able to handle all of this.
Areader, I'm not sure if he has confessed yet.Yes, the outcome is going to be very interesting. Like you said, if the powder was on his hands, then yes, I would say he was guilty too. But that still would be questionable. Even though it looks like all evidence is pointing towards James, I'm still not 100% sure he did it. Like I said before, if he did it, then he should be held accountable.
Again, I hate all of this happened to Karla. My heart goes out to her family. I don't care how many men she was involved with. There is no reason for anybody to kill her. Still, the story don't sound right.
Now I must say that if James truly did this, then he should get what's coming to him. Wrong is wrong and right is right.
However, I have known James for many years and something don't feel right about this story. The James I knew would not do something like this. I have to keep reminding myself that sometimes, you really never know someone until something like this happens- and then, you still don't know them. Only God and James know what really happen and I hope the whole truth comes out and justice will be served.
I am so sorry this happened to Karla and the baby. My heart goes out to both families. Nobody should have to go through this. James' wife is truly a strong woman to stand by him through all this.
Wonder if the lady that got her car dirty (from the horse poop) realize that she has probably ran over more than poop before the parade. I'm pretty sure she has ran over more than poop after the parade. Wonder if she freaks out when a bird relieves itself on her car? Probably...sigh....Come on, that's what car washes (or rain) are made for. I would hate for her to know that her shoes are not as sanitary as she think. Just imagine how many things we walk through that we don't even realize. Don't let everything get your blood flowing. It will be alright, I promise. Soap and water can take care of this.
I was at the Seneca parade and not once did I see any candy given out or thrown out that was not wrapped. What happened to: God made dirt. Dirt don't hurt. Put it in your mouth and let it work!!!!!! When we were kids, this was our motto. Like odj said, it built up our immune systems! My sister and I are living proof of that! :)
Speaking of the parade, I really enjoyed seeing all of the smiling faces and happy people! Kudos to the city for at least having the parade and to all the people that participated in it. However, it just wasn't the same. It seem like it is getting shorter each year. What happen to Seneca's Christmas parade we use to have when we were kids? The parades was always the Monday night after Thanksgivings. My sister and I could not wait for it to take place. We thought our parade was just as good as the Macy's parade. I miss the hour + long parade that took place at night. All the beautiful floats and lights could warm even the coldest heart. I remember how excited we were just watching everybody getting ready for the parade. People would come from all over the county. Cars would be parked all over the town! We lived so close to downtown that we would walk to the parade and enjoyed every step along the way! I swear all of the bands in the county (and maybe some from other counties) would participate. We could hear them warming up before the parade. As I type this I can see the vendors pulling their carts full of goodies! The parade would go on and on as all the different groups came through. It seem to last forever. You knew the end was near as Santa, Ms. Claus, and the horses made their appearance! It puts a smile on my face just thinking about it. What happened to these days? Oh, what joy it was to be there! I realized that as I got older, a lot of nonsense would take place during the parade. This may be the reason for the changes that has taken place over the years and I hate that. It would sure be nice if the kids could experience the parade like we use too. I tried to explain the fun of the parade to my daughter and nephews. All they can do is imagine. This makes me sad.
Fredatwork- You are right! I am she!!!!! LOL I'm happy to have a "country" friend here!
Thank you, Old South and Daisey for the nice things you said to me!
Old South - I go out of my way to be nice to everyone. I really meant every word I said in my post above. I believe you should look at every side of whatever situation or issue comes up. I just don't believe that the employees are as bad as the media made them out to be. I don't even know them, but I can only imagine what all they have been through since this came up. I still can't figure out why it had to come down to this. That poem did not hurt anybody psychically. It might have offended some and I'm sorry that happened. I don't like for anybody to feel that way. Look at it this way, if the media never said anything about it, none of us would have knew anything about it. However, it would have still been on the Internet and we can't do anything about that. The Internet is full of hateful things. The best we can do is ignore it.
I really believe the right thing to do is to love everyone no matter what. I was taught this at a young age, but it took me a long time to get it. I finally got it!!!! In the past, I could hold a grudge for days, even though it takes a lot to make me mad. I realize that it wasn't hurting anybody except for me. It wasn't worth it. Whatever I was mad about, I know I either made it more than what it was or took it the wrong way. It was just the immature side of me that didn't get it. You live and you learn. I really enjoy giving love and being loved. There's nothing better than making someone else feel good about themselves or to put a smile on their face. If there is anything I can do for anybody, I will do it if I can. If I can't, I'll sure try to find away to help some how.
Thank you odj for welcoming me here! :) I love your comments above.
Sparrow- oops! I did distribute that, didn't I? Ooooh! I guess I am going to get it now! (smile) I hope the media don't come hunt me down. See y'all,( I'm country too) I am no better than anyone else. I hope nobody took that the wrong way. But watch, someone will think that I did that to be hurtful. I really didn't. Thank you for posting that poem! I really like it!
Even thought the poem is similar to the one posted above, it isn't the same one that's in question. Someone took the poem and revised it. You can find the one in question here: http://www.sternfannetwork.com/forum/sho...
Being the black person that I am, I didn't find either poem amusing. Like most of you said, it was a poor attempt of humor by the author. Did I find it to be racist? Somewhat. Am I ready to start a riot? For what reason? They weren't talking about me. Do I think the employees should be fired? No, I don't. Reprimanded, yes, but I think the media has did part of this already. I would think the employees in question feel bad about all of this, but I could be wrong. Does it make them racist because they forward it? No it doesn't. Do I think the employees are racist? If I say they are racist, then I must classify myself as racist too because I read it. So, I couldn't answer that because I don't know them personally. What I do know is they did not create the poem. Matter of fact, the original one has been circulating for a couple of years now. Someone decided to change a few things and now it's circulating again.
I hope these employees didn't mean anything by it. It took me a minute to find it, but when I did, not only did I find this one, I found one for just about every race there is. It just goes to show that everything is not funny to all people. There are a lot of people out there ready to crack jokes at whatever is funny to them at the moment, regardless to if it hurt someone's feelings.
Like some of you mention, we have Chris Rock, Jeff Foxworthy, and etc. that make fun of all nationalities, size, gender, and so on. A lot of the things they say can be hurtful, but we shouldn't take everything so seriously. We are what we think we are. Not what someone else say that we are. Chris, Jeff, nor the author of these poems do not put the food on any of our table. So what they say should not bother us so much. The poem did nothing but created an issue like this where people are divided once again because of our differences. There is a lesson to be learned from all this. Remember, God made no mistakes. He put us all here for a reason and I'm sure it was to love one another, no matter what. Let's not point our fingers at these employees because when we do, there are 3 pointing back at us. Nobody is perfect.
You all gave very good advice! I hope this dear child listens to what you all have to say. For me, Halloween is a day for kids and grown-ups, for that matter, to dress up and have fun.
Halloween may be perceived by some as evil, but not everybody celebrate it for that reason. Here's what I found on Halloween:
The Celts celebrated their new year on November 1. This day marked the end of summer and the harvest and the beginning of the dark, cold winter, a time of year that was often associated with human death. Celts believed that on the night before the new year, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred. On the night of October 31, they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth.
Don't sound too evil to me, but who is to say what is evil or good? Is it because the dead supposedly returns to the earth? Remember, Jesus rose from the dead. The dead are not the ones to be scared of. It's the living you should be worried about.
Joy, I hope you know that you don't have to believe all the hype about the evilness connected to Halloween. True, there may be people out there with evil thoughts. Evilness comes from negativity.Halloween can be good if you think of it in a positive way. Don't let negativity get you down. Anything that you think of as evil or bad, make it good with positive thinking.
