This is so typical of the mindset with so many people these days. We shouldn't give the money back to the "million dollar home" people. We should spend it so they don't get a "banquet of abundance". They pay most of the taxes. Why wouldn't you refund at the same rate? Redistribution of wealth at its finest.
thlhjh76, I hope that when my children reach the adult business world they aren't applying for $20 per hour jobs. I hope its alot more than that. There is a proven, strong connection between music and math performance. Math skills are something this country needs and should be improved upon. It sounds like a priority to me.

For the writer who needs help deciding on which party to vote for, I caught your sarcasm and Willie didn't. Republicans AND Democrats cheat on their wives. Bill Clinton, John Edwards, etc. They are all human. You won't find a party without a few bad apples. And the comment about the Republicans only worrying about "millionaires". All I can say is I truly hope you are not old enough to vote.
This situation shows a lack of respect for the law. Period. I would hope this is a "teaching moment" for the professor and Obama tells him, "Hey, next time a police officer asks you to do something, just do it and keep your mouth shut." He should be thanking the officer for responding to a possible crime in progress, not yelling at him.
Healthcare should be a right? Should owning a house be right also? Should having a job be a right? These things are earned, worked for, etc. It isn't given to those that are "blessed". You don't have these things because you are lucky or God has granted it to you. People have actually WORKED HARD for what they have. This gov't healthcare proposal is insane and will destroy the quality of our healthcare and bankrupt our country. I agree that some changes need to be made but this proposal is another step by this administration to take control of our economy.
Republicans want change in healthcare, just not a gov't healthcare. Another issue that needs to be solved is the number of doctors and nurses. The US just doesn't have enough to suddenly start caring for an additional 15 million people. Profit is a good thing for our system. It pushes us to do drug studies, experimental surgeries, etc so that we have the best care available to our citizens. It also motivates people to become doctors, nurses, pharmacists, etc. Folks, its OK if someone in America makes money. Lots of money.
For the writer who is not burying Mark Sanford, I don't agree with some of the things Mark Sanford is doing either. BUT, I am also not looking for the state gov't or the federal gov't to take care of my economic problems. Those are my responsibility.
Sparrow, why can't you carry a weapon into Walmart? I can carry one in with a concealed weapons permit. I can even carry into a bank. It has to be concealed, but I still have it with me.
