JS - I have heard that argument and actually believe it not you have a very valid point, however, you asked what we have lost, and that is the 1s thing that came to my mind.

I believe we have the lost the moral foundation of our founding fathers, we have lost the right to pray in school because of one person who did not believe in God, we have lost the sacredness of human life (Roe vs Wade), in a way and it is growing, we are losing our freedom of speech, for one example, we are not allowed to speak our feelings about Muslim faith it is protected, but the Christian faith is under attack all the time. Just a few starters.
Hmmm ... I happen to believe in Jesus Christ and God not sure what part of that you don't understand. I am not a "religion" nut. You can find God and Jesus outside of the church - he will find you where ever you are. Can I have an Amen on that. Now on the part of socialism, the path I believe this country is going down, has nothing to do with whether or not you believe in God - not sure how you came up with that either. I am against all the principles of socialism - I do not like it. Period. I have wonderful friends who I love dearly that believe otherwise - we have great arguments! Does it mean they judge me or I judge them, absolutely NOT. It means that we both have different opinions on what way we feel this country is going.
Many of us who are believers, believe we are losing more of our rights each day granted to us by either a) God and b) the constitution. That is all I am saying. As far as those that say you are going to hell if you do NOT believe in Jesus Christ - it may be harsh but it is scriptual. I believe in pointing out all the wonderful mercies he gives us each day, including everlasting life. However, it was stated above something about talking about the devil. I believe if you believe in God there is no way that you can not also admit the existence of Satan. Good and evil - it will always exist until our Lord in Heaven has said enough.
Exactly Sparrow, if you choose to leave a church because of what other people have said and done that are hurtful, well you will be searching for that perfect church that is not there. All people are sinners and therefore can be hurtful. There was only ONE perfect ... his name is Jesus.

Not sure where you are getting your information from, but my God has DEFINITELY made his existence to me - it is called faith and belief. It is called free will. I pray it will happen to all one day.
oops, my fault, PLEASE thank your 3 brothers, cousins, nephews, uncles, husband and father and grandfathers for the service to our country!!! I happen to know odj's son so he came to my mind. I am also from a long list of military men and women, I did not thank them either but was meant in my last statement .... "May God Bless America and may God Bless our military who keep us safe, those who served and those now serving." When I say that it also means my thanks.
I dont know the answer to your question that is why I put what I did. Maybe, just maybe, we started teaching our children the actual history of our country, the constitution, bill of rights, etc. maybe just maybe we will then have leaders who represent us that do not trample over these documents and it will NOT be necessary to answer your question because we may actually get a President of the United States AND a Congress AND State Representatives that actually respects and knows these documents himself/herself.
