Did anyone else see this comment that Willie made? "Also, there are a lot of jobs in recreation that people can do, even people who haven't finished high school. Requiring too much education can sometimes result in missing out on great candidates." I didn't realize that any adult without a high school diploma or GED could get a legitimate full time postiton anywhere in society today. Am I mistaken?
gocartmozart, I think that Mr. Frady isn't being just being politically correct in what he says...public schools are in place to educate children. So if you think the teachers shouldn't be helping those children who come from homes where no state/federal taxes or social security taxes are being paid, I guess all of the children in our schools who come from homes supported by government programs should be denied an education as well. It doesn't matter where their parents are from or whether or not they have legally obtained jobs, the children are innocent and should not be denied because of it. Sure, I agree that our immigration system needs to be overhauled. But why would any one want to hurt/deny/ignore the innocent children? Start with the criminals and leave the babies alone.
Superduper, I don't know what you drive but my car won't get up to more than 35 mph in the short distance of that on-ramp. I wasn't speeding. Had I been, there would have been an accident.
reebop, Maybe Lila Doyle will issue scrubs with those reflective stripes like joggers wear. That'll keep their employees safe when they stand in the road and smoke at night.
I was the driver that swerved to miss the smokers. First, there is NO SIDEWALK beside the road heading towards Walhalla on the on-ramp to Hwy. 28. You were standing IN THE ROAD. Second, I was able to see you because I drive with headlights on. I clearly saw your dark scrubs and coffee cups. Maybe it wasn't coffee cups, maybe it was a Big Gulp from the 7-Eleven. Does it matter? When you have to swerve to miss peopple standing in the road, you tend to keep a clear image in your mind. That's fine that you need to smoke. Just stay out of the road.
