dds8892, from reading your post, I can see where the above
person gets their opinion. You not only sound like an idiot, but very ignorant.
The 21 people are not the ones crying. In an emergency, I want as many
as I can get to help me. Grow up and let these guys do their job.

Station 21 is a county Emergency Services Department. As volunteer at a rural station, I have worked with these guys on several occasions. They are highly trained and hard working. They are a great asset to this county. They are responding when others pick and choose calls to go to. They are not only a fire dept, they run medical, wrecks, searches, and any call that you cam imagine under the Emergency Services umbrella. The idiot that wrote above is just that an idiot. To find joy in the possibilty of another person losing their job is pathetic. Get a life!! Besides from what I here Station 21 isn't going anywhere, and that is for the best of all in the county.

For joetaxpayer, if I'm not mistaken Horry, Richland, and
Collenton Counties all started out just as Oconee is now.
They also, ran into the same opposition at first. Now their
sytems have expanded and they wouldn't have it any other
way. We just all need to be patient and give time for
growth. This will cost some money but, in the long term
it will be better for everyone.

Hey upstateff you also may need to get a life, and maybe some anger management classes. The issue was not letting Seneca handle a lift assist, but that they only responded after Sta. 21 went en route, only after 2 or 3 unanswered pages. I understand they don't monitor rescue calls, maybe they should start. This would help keep 21 out before they start in. By the way, I was listening to a call recently and Seneca requested more man power from volunteer stations
during the daytime hours (when most volunteers work). Station 21 had 3 paid and trained FF waiting and ready to go. It took 10 to 15 minutes for one of the stations to answer up with 1 FF and truck. Seems to me it would have been smarter to ask for 21, they would have been on scene before the other even got started. Just my 2 cents from an unbiased observer.

Hey Willie, seems some more people are starting to catch on to your personal witch hunt. Everything done by county
staff is wrong, but Seneca city never does wrong. Except, this time you bit one of your own. You (someone @ your paper) made Chief Phillips look bad. I would like to see you respond and have to deal with a fire scene. You just hide behind your pathetic little gossip column. I would like to thank all of the fire service City, County, and Volunteers. Keep up the good work!!! Let's all work together to keep our County Safe. Change is not always a bad thing. I to think some public apologies are in order. Especially to Chief Burdette, who you certainly cheap shot at every opportunity.

willietellu why don't you try spell check before you post your rants on the "coumpter". This is pitiful, all the fire departments should be using every possible asset to protect the citizens of Oconee County. Forget about egos and work together to make our county as safe for us as you can.
