The flowers from the grave may be across the hwy. The wind takes many arangements not only across Blue Ridge Blvd but as far as two or three houses up a couple streets, in the neighborhood - across the hwy.
Also many arangements are blown into the vally, across from Oconee Memorial park ... near the little water wheel, and into that neighborhood. So sorry the flowers are missing - and some lowlife scumbags may be taking them - however I have seem many arangements just rolling across yards in Tanglewood.

On Petition to abolish BAR circulating

Thank you, Louise Bell. The BAR group created an injustice ~ that is for sure. The majority of the houses in this district are rotting and abandoned. What part of improved is not appriciated?
“This BAR has too much authority and needs to be done away with,” most certaintly, before the area becomes a rat infested neighborhood. So many rotting and abandoned houses will only devalue your property.
I do not know anyone that lives in this area and do not know Mr. Wilson - however it is a no-brainer to see the improvements made at 203 E. S. 2nd St.

On Battle rages over progress, historic district integrity

If I lived in that area - I'd move to a new location. Leave the houses to fall in around their neighbor... look what is ahead for your children. They will be left with a house they can't improve, nor sale. Move out as quick as you can and leave it with the BAR. The neighborhood looks like a war zone ... walk down the street and take a look!!! The houses are abandoned and past repair. You may as well post signs that read, "welcome homeless."

On Life at Tamassee DAR School: Good manners back in style with Tamassee DAR kids

A great idea, indeed!! The Kids are Blessed to have someone in their lives teach them manners.
My hint: to remember which side of the plate is my bread plate... ask yourself the question, "Are there any bread LEFT?" Pretend you're at a large family gathering, and hope some of the good home made bread is LEFT - Bread plate on your LEFT.

On No cheap solutions for eliminating eyesores

I bought within a restricted subdivision 32 years ago. The people within our restricted neighborhood also know they live within a restricted neighborhood. No, I am not snooty - unless you know 'snooty' to mean I have PRIDE in what I own. Just plain common sense PRIDE is what it takes to keep your property neat and clean. If you didn't inherit PRIDE - give yourself some....
Zoneing/code regulations/restrictions are suggestions that will not be followed by the PRIDEless.
By the way - I was born and raised here. It isn't necessary to come from "some other place" to have PRIDE... try it, you may like it.

On No cheap solutions for eliminating eyesores

Restricted developements have no legal means that require neighbor to 'be a good neighbor.' County goverment can do nothing, not even with a 'law' in place. If a neighbor is lazy and allows a rat infested yard to overtake the house, nothing can be done to get them to clean up their mess. Junk campers, trucks, cars and items that should be out of sight, not parked in the front yard, is an eyesore. The neighborhood can do nothing about it. A house - leading into our restricted developement looks as if a tornado came through their place. These neighbors are slobs - nothing can be done about it. They take no pride in their house and yard, and do not care that their careless ways stop the sale of other nearby houses. Makes me wonder what their parents were like?
Please clean up your mess - I would ask that you get a copy of our restrictions... however you probably can't read.... restrictions means nothing if neighbors have no pride.

Ths teachers are not doing enough to keep their class room safe. If any child goes to school scared - the school staff is not trained.

It starts in the bully's home life - they are the losers... and will pay the price as they age... talk with the parents - then DSS if/and when you see the abuse these Bullies are getting in at home ...

You may need to consider private or home school for your child.
