The security at DSS is ridiculous. I think they just wanted to make sure that everyone in the county knew it happened. I have never seen or heard of such a thing happening in a DSS office before and none of my friends have either. It was one of those unfortunate things and I am glad no one was hurt. It is sad that people behave in such a manner in the presence of children,but it just proves what they teach them. Having security does not prevent these things from happening. It only lessens the blow sometimes and at other times it gets more people hurt.
I agree tenman. I thought this section down here was for the discussions and opinions. I thought the column was called "TELL Willie". Unless you ask him to find an answer to a question you have. I didn't know it was going to be used to get his smart a** opinions on things that ruffled his feathers!
I have also read in his column where he would answer one person in a positive way, but the next week he gave a degrading response to someone else regarding the same matter. The only difference was the way the two people stated what was on their mind. The ironic thing about the two items was I had written both of them. That's how I know they said basically the exact same thing, just in different ways. Ain't that some BS?
So, how does this Willie answer anyway? It must depend on the MOOD or the time of the month. That must be where all the crap comes from. I could understand the monthly thing. My husband admits he has PMS instead of me.
AT&T is the same way. I called technical support and kept getting switched around. I finally got someone I could understand even though he had an accent. Guess what, when I asked, he was in the Philippines. All the big companies are guilty of it. Now that the big bucks have popped into their eyes that's all they see, making more. The United States and the economy is not important to them anymore. Wonder where they think their wallet came from.
JustVisting, I believe when we buy the extended warranties, all the software,added technical support, and other never-ending items that come along that the "computer world" swears we need,then we "computer screw-ups" deserve the technical support in a language we can understand without paying any more than we already have!
The illegal immigrants are a major strain on all the programs in our country. Education is not the only area suffering a budget cut because of their strain on our system. Medicaid is another area receiving cuts. Along with welfare and many others. I have children that are feeling the ripple effects of this.
The effects on education are never-ending. They are everywhere. My children know this because their teachers can't make "copies". They even know about the Medicaid budget cuts because of counseling. Their dad is in prison. I got them into counseling to help them deal with this. It has really helped them through these years. My older child has been cut out of his counseling sessions because of these damn cutbacks. He had made more progress in the last two years than ever, now what? Dad is coming home soon. My children will be okay. They will have Daddy and me to make everything ok. They know we love them. This brings a new start for us.
Medicaid is cutting patients to six counseling sessions a year! What about real serious mental patients? What happens to these people if they have an episode outside these six sessions?? If they go off and someone dies, who is to be held responsible? The government for the cutbacks? the patient? the doctor? Medicaid? How can something like that be explained to a victim's family? It's always " we're sorry, but it happens..." crap.
Medicaid is also cutting out hospice care for their patients. I guess they figure if you're dying, you don't matter anymore, why waste the money. Ain't that a helluva fare ye well!!
We had a bench like that in NC. We called it the "loafers bench". If anybody was looking for someone else,that's the first place we always checked.
These old men gab sessions are worse than any "hen party" you could ever attend. Hide and listen sometime,they are quite hilarious and can be embarrassing too.
Talk about making the rounds. I've seen that several times. I was told the lists were filled, they couldn't help my children for Christmas.

This sounds like the handi-work of a ticked off co-worker (or some one) who is trying to play the "goody-two-shoes card". Who sent this anonymous email to WYFF? I bet it is the one and same. This person should be disciplined for causing a public disturbance. Look at the upset he/she has caused on here. I'm sure it has been the same for these families and in the workplace.
The Town of Seneca is only taking disciplinary action because they are afraid of a lawsuit. This discrimination card should be over. Another person made a post to that reference: it was said "free at last..." something to the effect that the presidency is about as high a goal that can be reached. It has been reached, it has been proven the one race can not hold the other race from acquiring any of their desires. In effect,the debt should be paid in full, and the white people released from our bondage of our ancestors. I am so tired and weary from caring the burden of everyones ancestors and so is everyone else. I believe that is what Christ died for,but I guess not everyone sees it that way!

lovethelake--Why are the Surretts the only ones named in a lawsuit if "there are people here who do that"? You are referring to keeping the trailer in the garage. This is the third sentence of your very on statement. Is this discrimination at its best? Are we picking and choosing who we prosecute?
Building businesses is based on what some believe to be good for others. It doesn't matter whether all agree with this or not, just as long as "enough" agree. You people here, have proved the "enough" theory. All it takes is a majority rule in one direction or the one with the most money. That is how the final decisions are made in the REAL WORLD and we all know it.
Also, I have to agree with Smileyface on being "physically prepared". If a person is "truly" led by the Spirit, they will also use their God-given common sense. The problem is getting the human brain to use it. Take a look at this recession we're in. It was stated on the news this a.m., it's the worse since 1981. Just like for the winter snows, COMMON SENSE tells you to stock up on bread,milk,batteries,flashlights,candles, canned food,etc.. Do you think God is going to drop those from the sky? Yes, I have my faith in God! I also use the common sense He gave me to go with it, in order to do my part in meeting Him half way!
