I saw the game, and it was very exciting. Seneca had a lot of enthusiasm, but the Warriors had more skill. West-Oak had a new setter for the night, who had never played the position before. She is normally a strong blocker for their team, so that skill wasn't tapped into last night. EVERY Warrior in uniform played, some who have very little varsity experience. With that being said, I'd say Seneca should be thankful that Coach Shannon Burton tried some new things while facing them. Otherwise, I think the Bobcats would have been embarrased.
I don't plan to get involved in the verbal battle that you guys have initiated, but I do want to speak for what I know about Coach Brannon. He is BY FAR the most respected football coach that West-Oak has had in AT LEAST the past 15 years. He cares not only for the players as a team member, but he HONESTLY cares about their character. If you'll go back and read quotes from when he arrived at West-Oak, he stated that if his players turn out to be GOOD MEN after they graduate and leave West-Oak, then he had done his job. I think that speaks volumes.
I agree that their hearts didn't seem to be in the game. One starter in particular never had a change in expression the entire game. Riverside definitely won in the emotion category, as well as on the scoreboard. Lazy shots by Seneca was a major factor in the loss.
